Ma Ville Francais

In french class we were learning about directions. Since we were learning about this we were assigned to create a map and use our vocabulary we learned. We had things we needed to include on our map. I included 6 landmarks, they were Maisons, Petit lac, L’ecole, Station essence, caserne de pompier, le parc et montagnes. We also had to include 4 different street names, mine were, rue fleur, rue nature, rue melodie, et rue argent. Last thing we needed to include was the directions! We made slideshows about them, so here is mine!

Dans notre classe de francais nous avons appris les directions. Nous avons cree un “Slide Show” and il fallait faire une carte donner les directions. Voice mon travail.

My Winter Break

In English we were assigned to write about our winter break. We needed to include 3 literary devices, the lines with red are my literary devices. Here is my document of my writing.

My Winter break

Going into this break I thought I was going to be proactive. I thought I would be doing so much my days would be almost jam packed with things to do. As of what I was thinking at the start of the break is that every single day I would be busy with lots of things to do with friends or even family. Maybe I would go ice skating with my friends or even just hang out with them in our backyards. Little did I know none of that would actually happen.

The first day came rolling around and I was so excited because I was going to have so much fun over the next two weeks. That day I had a doctor’s appointment and it was scheduled at 1:00 pm so it really was the worst because it was smack in the middle of the day so that was not helpful at all. I ended up not doing anything else that day, which is not what I wanted to happen. The next day came rolling around (by the way this was before the lockdown) and I had a hair appointment, got my hair done and then I headed to the mall to go shopping with some of my friends from dance. I was very excited because my day was full because….after the mall with my dance friends I went to the Greenbergs’ house to go in the hot tub. When we were outside it was freezing. I was an ice block. Besides tuesday a lot of my days went like this. I wake up around 10-11-12 am, I watch tik tok till like 12-1, after that I head down for my first meal of the day breakfast. Basically all I do for the day is lie in bed or do stuff my family wants me to do. Now that was not my day everyday. Some days I would go ice skating with some friends, and one day I even went sledding. When I went skating I felt like I was going 100 miles per hour.

During my winter break (though most of it was on screens) I still had loads of fun when I hung out with my friends. My favourite part of the whole break was on New Years Eve when a bunch of people in our class attempted to do an all nighter(online). I got ditched by everyone going to sleep but I decided to still do it by myself. But besides that part before we made tik toks, attempted to make slime, roblox, and did little activities. When we were making slime Sophie said she was so sorry she skipped slime making. But it was still just so fun!

Overall my winter break was not what I expected but it still ended up being an enjoyable break. I had fun and also took a lot of time to relax! Even though we could not go on any vacations, we all still figured out how to have a fun winter break even with the lockdown happening.

OJCS Set the Scene

For this assignment we had to create a day in our perspective of a day at OJCS. We had to create a short story about that. We were working on creating short stories. I learned on what we need to include in short stories, I learned about how to create a proper short story. I could take more time in writing it more in details, editing it more than I did. This is the short story I made.

Reflection of the Year

  1. How was my Grade 6/7 experience overall?

It was good when we were in school. I had a lot of fun and it was a great year. Then when covid happened things went downhill. It was not so fun. We could see nobody so we were just at home, all by ourselves.

  1. What was my favourite memory?

My favourite memory In grade six was probably the middle school retreat. During the reatre my favourite memory was when we went white water rafting.

  1. What are you looking forward to the most about summer?

Hopefully going to my uncles and going swimming. I really just want to swim this summer.

  1. What was enjoyable about distance learning?

That we had more flexibility during class time. We did not always need to be on the google meet.

  1. What was difficult about distance learning?

That we had to stare at our screen the entire day. 7 hours of our day are just being spent by being on our devices.

Tell Me Three Things by:Julie Buxbaum

Tell me Three Thing by:Julie Buxbaum

In La we did a book project and I chose to read Tell Me Three Things. What we had to do was read the book and do an artifact-(assignment about the book.)I chose to do a website of me pretending to be one of the characters. I chose this artifact because my characters have a lot of personality. It is different for each and every person. I chose Jessie because she relates the most to me and It would be the easiest character for me to do. The story is vey well written it was hard what not to choose and what to choose. There is so much detail as well, I had to cut out a lot of the whole story. I chose certain elements for certain reasons. I chose the most important things, I ended up narrowing it down to 4 topics. I made a cliff hanger at the end of each section so you would want to read the next page. I chose the sections because they felt the most important to me. They each had the most important details that needed to be in it or else you would not understand the story at all. If I was going through this process again I would probably spend more time on the artifact. I took so much time reading I had barley any time to do the artifact. It was a little rushed. The website I chose was Wix, this was not the best choice. I would have rather use another website. If you want to see my website.

Here is the link:https://coolio1bestio.wixsite.com/mysite-1

That is my website. Hope you liked it. I would give the book 8/10 stars. If your seeing this right as I post it I just published dit 5 minutes ago.

Lunches In Need

In Social Studies we are doing journal projects. This week we had to go to Time (the website) and choose an article ( that is doing an act of kindness) to write about. I decided to write about an article of people handing out breakfast and lunches to kids in need.  Here is what I wrote about this article.

Lunches in Need

#1 Rural school district of Estacada has given over 1,700 students lunches everyday. They were saying that there are a lot of families who don’t have enough gas money to actually give their kids a nutrition meal that will fill them up. They decided to take over this huge project and started to bring the families lunches. They would have 35 to 40 staff members who prepare 750 breakfast and lunches a day. Kids have been happy to see the school bus roll up to their houses. They say it comforts them. One of the moms said this has been a really tough time for them, but to see her kids smile when they know they’ve been remembered has really touched her heart. When I read that part in the passage my heart sunk, and I realized we are really fortunate to pay for our own meals. There not only school doing this, there are programs around the U.S bringing school lunches to children.

#2 I really love this article. It is a really touching article to me personally because my mom used to teach kids who needed help in learning. Those students’ parents could not afford breakfast/lunch. So the school serves breakfast/lunch for those kids. Me just imagining them not getting food really wants me to help them out. It is even already hard for them just to learn. It makes me feel spoiled. Like I am taking things for granted and not thinking for others. It really breaks my heart.

#3 Silver linings – Positive outcomes during negative times. Right now coronavirus is a negative time. But we want to think on the bright side. What are things that you enjoy staying at home with your family? I enjoy playing a lot of games with my family. It is a great bonding time with your family, siblings, etc… How are you being kind/helpful with anyone? I am helping with chores in my family. My mom loves being neat and tidy. She has a lot of chores to do and is still working from 9:00 all the way to 5:00, no breaks. That is a lot to do. So my sister and I help out with some of the chores. It’s a great way to show appreciation to your parents.

That is how I feel about this article. If you want to see the article yourself. Check out the website!!!!!
