Math Coding

During math we were learning about currency! Mrs.Cleveland had a great idea to make this unit fun! We made a code. We were coding an “IPhone”, what it does is you will choose a place from the options (everything converts into CAD). Next step is you would be putting in an amount, it can be as much as you would like! You hit enter then BOOM! thats when the coding happens! You will then see the amount you converted into CAD! I will now put a link down bellow so you can go check it out!

Here is an image of what the “code” will look like!

Here is another photo to what some part of the code looks like!

If you have any questions about the code comment down bellow!

    Hey Maytal,
I liked how you showed a photo of your code and the final product instead of just the link!

For example, what were your challenges?

Hi Maytal. I love your app. One question, did you know that you could change the design/colours of the app? Just wondering!

      Funny,
Because as soon as I saw yours I changed it!

Hi Maytal! I’m so glad you enjoyed the coding experience! Did you have any challenges along the way? I like that you included some of your code in your blog. Do you think you may be interested in coding more things in the future? I know you worked hard on this project, as the tiniest mistake can make things just not work correctly. You’re a coder now- what’s next for you?

    Hi Maytal,

This project looks like it was a lot of fun to work on during remote learning. I would like to use an app like this when I travel to Vermont post-Covid. Did you have to work on figuring out all the different exchange rates as math questions? Now that you have made one app, do you think you will try to make some more? If you could make your own app what would it be?

    Keep on coding!

Great post! Could you think of other reasons or projects that you might do that involves coding? Do you think that coding is something schools should teach all children?

BTW – you should categorize this as “Math”!

    Dear Maytal,
I love how your app looks, and it was great to see the “behind the scenes” code. From my very limited knowledge, this looks like a form of block coding. Have you tried any other forms of coding? Are you interested in learning more?
You sound really enthusiastic in your post about coding. I hope this amazing activity has sparked something in you and you will continue exploring other coding opportunities.
